One of the top ranked courses in the province,Deer Park has played host to every major local tournament over its long history. It was first built in the late 1920’s on rolling, heavily wooded terrain that was once a popular animal park. The course is still home to a variety of wildlife, including many deer (hence the name), making it a relaxing setting to enjoy your game.
Over the years, many enhancements have been made to the course to improve its challenge, playability and aesthetic appearance. Over 200 yards have been added to the course, and water, sand and multiple tee areas will provide an even greater challenge to golfers of all skill levels. The course has recently seen the extension of hole #1 and the addition of a new green.
Many of the renovated holes are challenging, but a highlight is number 15 which is a tough 446 yard, par 4 hole from the championship tees. This hole is a dog-leg right into a potential prevailing wind with carry bunkers.
The signature hole is the beautiful 8th , where extensive landscaping has combined rock, railroad ties and a fountain to make this a visually exciting and challenging hole. An accurate tee shot here is required to have a chance at par.
