Champion Lakes Golf Course
Save up to $320.00
Named for the nearby provincial park and its lakes, the Champion Lakes Golf & Country Club has, appropriately, three small ponds at the centre of the course. These ponds are replicas of the much larger lakes to the northwest.
Designed by Boyd Barr and first open for play in 1992, the course was built by the industrious golfers of Beaver Valley. They were provided with financial assistance from private and commercial donations, plus grants from the government.
The course's 9 holes play through a narrow valley populated by a thick forest of trees. Some of these trees were incorporated into the course's layout, causing problems where they appear. Otherwise, Champion Lakes' fairways are wide and rolling, with few surprises.
At par five, the 1st hole provides Champion Lakes' biggest challenge, as well as the best chance for golfers to demonstrate their driving prowess. 556 yards and poker straight, this hole will funnel your drives toward a green framed between a hillside and a rolling mound.
